Camcorder '99 — the 0 lux night tape

The late-90s 8mm camcorder with the flip-out screen. Slide POWER to CAMERA and flip NIGHT MODE to 0 LUX: the picture goes green, the middle lights up, eyes glow and anything that moves leaves a trail. START/STOP records a clip with REC, the tape counter and the date burned in — save it to Photos when it stops. PHOTO saves a still. W/T zooms, MENU sets Super 0 lux, the date on tape (today or 1999), the mic and tape noise, and VCR plays the tape back. By day it is the soft, smeared 8mm colour. Turn the lights off.
